Last minute assistance for Jaguar event

22nd May 2015

Having been let down at the last minute, Jaguar Enthusiast’s Club contacted Bradshaw for event vehicles for its National Eastern Day, which was held on Sunday 17th May at Ickworth House, Bury St Edmonds.

The event was the Club’s first National Eastern Day in the grounds of Ickworth and was a huge success. Not only were there over 500 Jaguars on display, but entertainment also included archery, craft stalls, face painting, children’s rides and live music.

The vehicles hired from Bradshaw were mainly used for set up, with a 4 seater Villager, used to transport people around the large site, together with a Turf vehicle, used to transport equipment and goods.

Graham Searle from the Club, said: “So much goes into these events that the last thing you need at the last minute is to find out you haven’t got what you expected. Fearing the worst I phoned around and when I spoke to Bradshaw I was immediately relieved by their willingness to help at such short notice. The whole problem was sorted immediately and the vehicles delivered on time the very next day.”

Mike Bradshaw, Joint Managing Director at Bradshaw, commented: “When Graham contacted us on Thursday afternoon wanting vehicles for the Friday morning, we were more than happy to assist. We understand that these things do happen; we are very flexible and our organisational skills mean that we can usually offer last minute event hire, even on extreme limited notice.”

Are you thinking logistically about your event vehicles?

1st April 2015

Thinking Logistically

The Venue

One of the first tasks when planning an event is sourcing a venue, the infrastructure for your event. However, when looking for a suitable venue, it is often necessary to think about the logistics of how people are going to get around it, how organisers will get from one end of the venue to the other quickly, or ambulance staff or security in an emergency.

A solution could be event vehicle hire, helping to transport staff, visitors, those all-important VIP guests, equipment, trade goods and collect waste/recycling. There are several things to think about that will determine how many vehicles and which type is required, including:

- What type of event it is

- What will need moving, i.e. people, equipment

- How many people are at the event

- If transporting people, the minimum number of seats required

- Which engine type you prefer

- Where the vehicles will be operated, i.e. inside/outside/muddy terrain

- Is an ambulance vehicle required for health & safety purposes

Budget

To ensure that costs are kept within budget, and especially when the budget is tight, it is even more crucial to think about your budget logistically in order to maximise it.

One option might be to hire a vehicle that can be used for a various jobs, therefore getting the most out of your budget. Trailers can also help to carry larger loads and can help save time too.

By planning which vehicles are needed and when can also help. Bradshaw Event Vehicles can assist with the planning process by creating an accurate quotation, with scheduled hires if this is needed and to assist with budget. Often large events require a number of vehicles, but not at the same time and therefore it is pointless paying more money for vehicles that aren’t needed for the duration. 10 vehicles may be required two months prior to the event for build-up, another five two days prior to the event for event organisers and so on, right through to vehicles being delivered after the event for clear up.

Vehicle Break Down

Unfortunately vehicles do sometimes break down and it is important to think about what implications it will cause if in the unfortunate event yours does. The effects will of course be different depending on what the vehicle is to be used for, if it is for event build up, this could be a nightmare and could mean that your event build up takes much longer, if the vehicle on hire is for transporting people, this could cause issues getting staff around the venue or those all-important VIP guests.

We are definitely seeing more new entrants to the vehicle hire market, but they are not offering the service to go with the hire. Anyone can hire a buggy to an event, but it’s the service that really counts.

Make sure that when you hire a vehicle for your important event you know exactly what you are getting.

At Bradshaw our commitment to ensuring completely operational buggies throughout an event means we have a dedicated 24/7 service line and a team of engineers ready to get the buggy repaired within 24hrs of the call. For some events we create an on-site service centre with a team of engineers. We can also supply drivers for the buggies, offering a complete transport package.

Let down by a vehicle supplier

It is always best to book event vehicles as soon as possible, however, we understand that this isn’t always possible and often people are actually let down by their current supplier. If this does happen, there are companies that can help but be careful you don’t get over charged.

At Bradshaw we often get last minute customers that require our help. As we have such a large stock of vehicles for hire, we can usually provide what is needed, even at short notice.

Summary

By thinking logistically about your event and vehicle hire, it could save you money and help to ensure your event runs smoothly. Remember, it isn’t just about the vehicle hire being the cheapest, the service you receive too is also important for your event.

If you would like any advice or a quote for vehicle hire for your event, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Bradshaw Event Vehicles.

Bespoke design for Bradshaw vehicles
at Lord Mayor's Show

14th November 2014

Peterborough Beer Fest

Thousands of people were in London on Saturday 8th November for this year’s Lord Mayor’s Show.

It may not have been obvious that Bradshaws were there too, and in fact part of the parade; our vehicles were somewhat of a disguise.

Our tow tractor T700 and trailers were underneath and in control of the huge fish for the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers and our tow tractor T800 was very well disguised as a wizard for Russell Beck Studios. We provided the vehicles and transportation of the completed floats, whilst RDW completed the build.

Our experience of providing vehicles for events allowed us to ensure both the vehicles, and finished floats were exactly where they needed to be at the scheduled times.

Bradshaw showcase rental vehicles
at Showman's Show

5th November 2014

Peterborough Beer Fest

As well as being Britain’s largest manufacturer of industrial electric vehicles, Bradshaw also has over 400 hire vehicles specifically for the events market.

Bradshaw typically supply over 3,000 vehicles a year, to events such as Wimbledon, The British Grand Prix, Glastonbury, Burghley Horse Trials, the Chelsea Flower Show and many more.

This year’s Showman’s Show, held at Newbury Showground on 22nd and 23rd October, was an excellent opportunity for Bradshaw to catch up with existing customers and meet key decision makers within the event industry.

Bradshaw’s Stand on Avenue B, Stand 168, proved popular with a high footfall across the 2 days. Mike Bradshaw, Joint Managing Director at Bradshaw commented: “We enjoyed hosting a busy stand and having the opportunity to meet up with both existing customers and making new contacts, being able to speak to them about transport solutions we can provide for their events. There really are so many different packages we can put together”.

The stand gave visitors to The Showman’s Show a glimpse of what Bradshaw provide, with a range of products displayed on the stand, including a Club Car golf buggy, villager 4 and 6 personnel carriers, capable of taking 4 and 6 passengers respectively, a John Deere Gator, ideal in any weather for a variety of jobs, a turf ambulance conversion, together with a Bradshaw T800 tow tractor, capable of pulling 1100 litre bins, ideal for outdoor events generating a lot waste/recycling.

The success of an event can often hinge on transport, a shortage of security patrols, concession stalls running out of goods, management staff in the wrong place at critical times, all can adversely affect the smooth running and the overall perception of any event.

Bradshaw offer a range of vehicles to suit your needs, whether for transportation of event managers, guests from car parking to event location or load movement. Our flexibility and organisational skills mean that we can usually offer last minute event hire, even on extreme limited notice.

All our buggies arrive fully serviced, spotlessly clean and fully charged/fuelled ready to work on arrival. We are committed to ensuring completely operational buggies throughout your event and have a dedicated 24/7 service line and a team of engineers ready to get the buggy repaired within 24hrs of the call.

Add to this a reliable delivery service and a team of experts means Bradshaw Event Vehicles has the capability to make your event a total success, even at short notice.
